Some of you might not know this, but besides sewing Terri also has a great, great love for garage sales. She doesn’t look it but she’s a tough shopper. Once, she turned down a pair of shorts because the owner wouldn’t go below a quarter. 25¢!
A few weeks ago, while following the garage sale arrows up and down Mililani she stumbled upon a pair of jeans. It was definitely on its last leg. (Yes, pun intended)
Despite its flaws, Terri could see the potential of turning the ratty jeans into a cute hand bag.
After washing the jeans, she sorted through her stash of different recycled upholstery samples to blend with the embroidered jeans. She has a knack for pairing different patterns together and somehow making it work.
After a few hours of sewing and snipping... viola!
An adorable upcycled hand bag! Luckily she had enough of the leftover jeans to make a second bag.
Sewing is truly a labor of love for Terri. And as much as she loves to sew, it melts her heart when customers appreciates her creations. Jeanius.
I thought it would be neat to see the process Terri goes through in creating her journal doodles. So proud.
